Foods To Be Avoided
CerealsCakes, sweet pastries, biscuits. Allbran. Puddings.All breakfast cereals containing sugar eg. Frosties, CornflakesDairy ProductsFruit yoghurt, milk puddings and custards containing sugar.
Beverages
All drinks containing sugar eg. lemonade, squashes, Coke, Pepsi, liqueurs, cordials.
Miscellaneous
Sugar, honey, jam, marmalade, sweets, chocolate, diabetic products containing fructose.
Foods Allowed Freely
Cereals
Soda bread, Matzos, Ryvita, yeast free crispbreads, water biscuits, rice cakes, oat cakes, unsweetened plain scones, flour, rice, pasta, semolina etc. Breakfast cereals free from sugar or fruit eg. Shredded Wheat, Puffed Wheat, oats.
Dairy Foods
Eggs, milk, butter, margarine, cream, plain yoghurt, cheddar
Fish and MeatAny fish or meat or poultry not containing breadcrumbs or made up with meat or vegetable extracts.Fruit And VegetablesPermitted fruit must be well washed or preferably, peeled. Freshly squeezed fruit juices. All permitted vegetables, salads, potatoes.
Beverages
Freshly squeezed fruit juices. Diet drinks not containing fruit, tea, coffee, cocoa.
Miscellaneous
Salt, pepper, herbs, spices, garlic, lemon juice, artificial sweeteners eg. Nutrasweet, Aspartame, Saccharin, Sorbital. Check that granular artificial sweeteners do not also contain some type of sugar.
