Document Summary
Title Optimal Nutrition for Soccer Players
Description Using nutrition to help the body cope with the demands of soccer
Creation Date 01 July 2000
Doc type Article
Document Abstract:
In football, it is estimated that about 155-160 gms of glycogen, 50-60g of fat and 5-6 MJ of energy are used per game. Energy intakes vary from 11-20 MJ/day and glycogen stores are easily depleted, especially if low before the game. This article therefore explores the requirements of soccer players, and seeks to redress the balance between intake and expenditure.
