Abstract: |
There are many substances, actions and feelings to which we can be addicted, some of them such as a mild addiction to exercise or chocolate may not be too harmful and can even in some ways be interpreted as beneficial - as an `addiction to life’ certainly can be. Most addictions whether recognised or not though are harmful to the body over the long term. This article explores the potential perils of addiction to prescription drugs, with special reference to the anti-hyperactivity medication Ritalin. |
